The Skids: New Singles Collection CD coming soon

A new singles collection is due out from Captain Oi!, due to be released in October 2011

Captain Oi! are to release the first official career round up of the Skids singles both A-sides and B-sides, this is scheduled for around October this year.

The release will be a double CD in a Deluxe Clamshell box with an excellent booklet with details and artwork from the original singles and also includes some foriegn sleeves.

The Skids – Masquerade (PSST Remix 2011) by oddydoodle

Crunching extended remix of the Skids classic single ‘Masquerade’. Digitally enhanced for 2011 this new version features a beautifully crafted celtic styled ending. “Music to move mountains” – Stuart Adamson (RIP).

This version was produced by Paul Hammond, with fellow punkrocker ‘Dusty Moonan adding the ‘Live’ Orgasmic Funker style guitar sound. The recording was done simeltaneously online with Paul programming the track in Prestatyn North Wales whilst Dusty was recording guitars in Glasgow……….the power of the internet!

Overall this a heavier & longer version than the original – a great tune by a great band!

Location for The Stuart Adamson Memorial Bench

The location of the Stuart Adamson memorial bench has been decided by Dunfermline Council the bench will be situated near the Lilly Pond in Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline, photograph is shown.
The bench is still in the process of being made it has been 4 wks already! It was stated it would be 4-6 weeks so it should be soon. Will give you two weeks notice for fans to arrange to attend the unveiling.

Colin Gourlay wrote “There are other memorial benches around and to the north of the pond. For those who don’t know ‘The Glen’ (as we locals like to call it) the lilypond is pretty much in the centre of the park. It’s within sight of the Pavilion (with several historic connections for both Skids and Big Country) and within sight of a public toilet block (which is manned a lot of the day so there will be someone to watch over it). The pond has many flowering lilies and is populated with goldfish. It’s both in a central and busy area of the Glen while at the same time it can be kinda secluded and quiet. Ideal in my opinion. The installation date and arrangements will follow. Hope you all approve. Best, Ghoulz

UPDATE ON MEMORIAL FUND………..

Number 1 Skids fan Allan Smith (Smid) has done the plaque for the Stuart Adamson Memorial Bench,well done Smid! see photo below.
